My cat "Orange" has been missing since August 1999. Actually he was "kidnapped" by the guy, who was described as:
Orange was last seen at Marlborough St. x Mass Ave. (near Harvard Bridge, Boston side) on Aug. 9th
1999.
(Updated Note: It was very sad I had to leave Boston for San Francisco without Orange in 2005...)
Orange is a very friendly male outside cat. He loves to see many people. Orange had a name tag when he was taken. He has a bad scar on his hind leg from a previous accident.
The name, "Orange" is actually a wrong name for him. His fur is not orange at all. It's more like tan/buff color. If you see a orange cat, (s)he is probably not Orange.
He loves whip cream so much. (see the picture left. He's licking whip cream!) He recognizes the sound of a can. If you shake one, Orange will meows.
Orange is such a good boy. I often called him a "good boy" so he may think it's his name.
Orange was out all night long. It was pretty normal for Orange to go outside at night when there's no traffic. Orange usually came back home in morning and asked me to feed him. But the morning, he didn't come back.
In the morning, a local animal shelter called Garrett and told this story:
this guy, who picked up Orange on Massachusetts Ave. near Marlborogh St.(that's where I and Garrett lived at that time) and put Orange in his backpack, came to the shelter by bike at night before, to ask info about us.The shelter called us for our permission to give him our phone number. Of course the answer was yes. (by the way, Orange had been vaccinated by the shelter's clinic previously, and that's why they knew our phone number. The strange thing was that the shelter couldn't find the info when the man came in the night before.)
Then they hang up the phone immediatelly in rude way, thus we had no chance to ask any questions at the time, even though we seriously wanted to know WHO had Orange...
However, the guy had never contacted us. With anger and disappointment, we kept calling the shelter back to get any info.
After many trial and long waiting, we finally got a little info about the guy but we were so shocked that the shelter did not have the name or phone number of the guy, who took Orange back to his home.
I simply couldn't stop asking why the Animal shelter didn't even take the guy's number, why they gave away my cat to this total stranger, why they didn't call us sooner? I still have so many why's !
